DIY Granny Square Wall Pocket Organizer

Hello to all my followers and readers!

It is Monday and a week before school starts (here in Greece)! So projects that have to do with organization are in my to-do list.

If you love organization too, then that’s the kind of project for you! If you love crochet too, then you hit the jackpot!

Crochet wall hanging pockets is a great idea to store anything, from stationery and utilities, to makeup and other accessories. You can use any color combination yarn and any number of pockets. Make it as personal as you like.

This project was created for my daughter to use for her school equipment. She is starting first grade this September and I am trying to find ways to make her work space functional but yet, stylish and girly too!

It was a really fun project to do and I will definitely make another soon.

As the main body of the organizer, you need to crochet a solid granny square  (dimensions: 30cm x 30cm /12 inches x 12 inches).

If you don’t know how to make one, here is the video from my favorite Bella Coco.

Then, you need to crochet granny squares in different colors and stitch them on the main body, using a yarn needle.

I used a wooden rod to hold it together but you can also use a wooden hanger.

I added my final touches, which included crochet hearts, crochet butterflies and buttons!

Phaedra was really impressed with her new wall pocket organizer. She has already asked another one for her hair accessories! Oh well,…that will be my pleasure 🙂
